Every day we pull published ship schedules from port authorities — the same sources the ports themselves maintain.
We estimate passenger loads
Each ship's published capacity is added up per port-day and compared against a typical day for that port, giving a Not Crowded / A Little Crowded / Crowded / Super Crowded rating.
You pick the quiet day

What is PortCrowds?
PortCrowds is a crowd calendar for cruise ports. For each port and date we estimate how many cruise passengers will be ashore and rate the day Not Crowded, A Little Crowded, Crowded, or Super Crowded.
Where does the schedule data come from?
Official port authority sources — for example Nassau Cruise Port, APIQROO (Cozumel), Port St. Maarten, and WICO (St. Thomas). Every port page credits its source and shows when the data was last fetched.
How accurate are the crowd estimates?
They're estimates, not headcounts. We use each ship's published passenger capacity, but actual loads vary by sailing, and schedules can change. Treat the rating as a planning guide — read the full methodology.
Why do some dates say "provisional"?
Dates more than 7 days out are marked provisional because cruise lines adjust itineraries for weather, maintenance, and operations. We re-check the near-term schedule daily.
